March Madness 3

Well it's spring and in my land it's been pretty hot at least this week I suppose.

It's a good thing it's here because just like with autumn, it's one of the only safest seasons.

Even Barney Bear says it like it's true.

How bout we end off March with the last March Madness?

Of course that means art, and other stuff.

While things are taken more seriously, I don't think it stops me from one of the easiest hobbies of mine.

I went to an antique shop today and it was priceless. Yeah excuse the pun there.

If you want to see rare stuff and somewhat buy it, why care for Ebay, it's the king of all greed. And besides you can experience all this stuff in person.

This is apparently a pocket mirror. Ey. You learn something new every day.

I seen alot of old stuff even some of my favorites like porcelain dolls and old magazine covers, I drew these three fine men for all of you.

I love drawing new characters even if I never want to draw them again.

Phillips Bear and Dredd The Moose in spring clothing. I'll talk about this in another post. This is supposed to be one of their acts vaudeville style.

The red fuzzy monster is Rabra. I made her on the same exact day I drew Dredd The Moose which was in July of 2021. Unfortunately the first design I have is lost so as Dredd, but I was impressed with this creature so I revamped her to make her more fuzzy and full of personality.

I rarely buy bobbleheads, they make me nervous, whenever hell breaks loose, they're done for, that being they're existent moving heads.

I doubt anyone is going to rightfully use my characters as merchandising. Dutcher and Ben Obvious might be it's first contender.

SCHOOL DRAWINGS

I'm still studying on how to draw hard and very detailed animated shots. This coming from Hare Conditioned. I grew up with this one and has an amazing scene with Bugs walking backwards as the manager gets closer and closer, feeling heated. That must've took a few days for that 30 second scene to work. This drawing took about 30 minutes to make. While also still keeping track of schoolwork of course.

This is my big boy chicken, Mr. Cockedee. You can't beat a farm environment when it works so perfectly with my personal viewing of life.

I made Mr. Cockedee into a working-class eccentric jerk but with a good heart. He's potentially a realist and laid-back for severe reasons. He's like Foghorn Leghorn but has more of an ego.

Characters I perfected so far were Dutcher and Ben Obvious, but Mr. Cockedee is close. You can immediately draw your mind with a battle between Foghorn and this guy and they both be winning. Unless if you consider who's more popular and more recognized then yeah....

Ox Fisher is more than a strong man, he's honest reliable and wants to yell at you miles away. He's awesome if you sense your mind to him. He also has a cute innocent little kitty who believes in more little things than big things like Ox himself.

Apparently a few sketches I drew the dated design of Ox before I gave him a final finish just a few days later.

Yeesh.

Here's some more randomness. I copied some of the MGM characters.

Flora The Forest Queen is my own princess I made for the past few months. Prince Raymond is the best human I created so far. He's totally masculine but also has beauty in his facial proportions.

Do you think rotoscoping animated characters like Snow White, Aurora and The Old Glory characters are hard to animate? To be honest, it's unique for classic animation to do that. It's more elegant but also faces heavy problems. It's kinda uncanny at times.

If you want my full opinion, I think it's more harder to make a prince have a personality. I like Snow White's prince and so does them in Sleeping Beauty, and Little Mermaid but have you ever sense them being funny? Sorta Bob Hope style, where he's normal and natural of a character, but likes to send funny one-liners once in a while in a film.

Bugs Bunny is really hard to draw because there is one thing you must master, EVERYTHING. Draw a normal bunny, doesn't even come close to Bugs true self. There is at least 3 heads that resemble him decently and they came from some of Robert McKimson's version of the character.

This is easily the best one.

I can't believe it, drawing a devil is actually more easier than drawing an angel. That doesn't mean I have to like it more. I drew inspiration from Ward Kimball's mouth movements alongside Rod Scribner.

Speaking of Ward Kimball, I tried drawing one of my favorite old comics, Mr. Jack, this was my first attempt at drawing him so his design isn't really accurate but you can see some influence here.

Remember when I said I wanted to go to another shop yesterday after I posted the DVDs? Well I claim all my hard work to getting some more items.

These designs are appropriate and adorable in every sense of the word.

I heard this poor pork has been locked with the rest of the gang for at least a year, maybe? I finally got a chance to have him because he's truly one of the best and most original characters to succeed in the Warner Bros brand.

Both Porky and Mickey are simple and easy personality traits making them both admirable and iconic.

TY plush toys are always a pleasure even in today's generation. These are easy to collect and appreciate.

Well that's it for now, here's Ox Fisher again.

New Stuff

Went out today to buy some cool stuff including DVDs and toys.

Managed to get a DVD of a movie I really want to watch, probably tonight, Easter Parade. I've been loving Fred Astaire, and Judy Garland! I also appreciate the humor in Cartoon Network's MAD. It's an underrated show that should just only be taken for laughs.

Jiminy Cricket is probably the most relatable character ever. He's really honest and reliable but also has a fiesty attitude at times. He literally tells Pinocchio the truth but Pinocchio himself is just too unlikeable in that movie. I find him hilarious and the more iconic and most moral characters in history.

I love collecting little animals in human clothing, it's very handsome and elegant. So I bought a bear with a cute straw hat and unique pose. It was a good price. Only a dollar, makes for a good item in my collection.

Most people find porcelain dolls to be creepy and unnerving. I think they're one of the best, most cutest and fashionable things I ever seen in my life.

I love the simple yet gorgeous faces given on each of the characters. They don't give a ton of personality but who cares? Red Riding Hood is really adorable. They even close their eyes and open them when you touch them. It's so silly yet amazing detail.

I also think baby dolls are cute too. Not all of them hold up, but these are almost all appealing and appreciated as a gift or something you can buy yourself. The tiger outfit kinda reminds me of Tigger for some reason.

They're simply beautiful and nothing like any other toy. Other types of toys including action figures may had more effort into making them but I feel like these don't get enough credit because I doubt they appeal to everybody.

They remind me of how life should be. Being quiet, observant, and healthy while also having a neat sense of style.

Have an incredible Andrews Sisters poster. I've been a fan of their music for almost a year now and it's good to see some respect for classic musicians even with merchandising being a big cultural impact amongst fans.

So with all the DVDs I bought today, I have with my collection. Don't know what'll happen if I run out of room but it's looking fantastic.

I can tell you one thing. I don't like Casper looking at me, that's for sure.

Tomorrow I'll be on another collecting spree!

The Immediate Downfall Of Looney Tunes - And Why It's A Major Problem

I've been hearing alot of bad things about Looney Tunes lately. I heard that their entire classic catalog has been removed by Max, and the building that took place is demolished.

I'm not entirely upset because, yeah the world is pretty messed up nowadays but it's still absolutely disappointing and disrespectful. Bugs Bunny and the rest of the gang have been timeless ever since they were first drawn, and even then Bugs Bunny is the true main mascot of the company at least in the animation field.

This was all because of the two recent movies, Coyote vs Acme and The Day The Earth Blew Up. The entire company refused to release them for about a few years, I mean come on, IF THE FILM IS FINISHED JUST RELEASE IT ALREADY, hard-work does pay y' know? Well maybe now it doesn't anymore.

Now there were times back when the golden age of Looney Tunes was at it's peak, they have had scrapped or unfinished shorts but at least it was just standard and not ambitious or had a ton of passion, which really pisses me off about what happened to Coyote vs Acme. I'm not a fan of the Coyote and Roadrunner shorts but I bet alot of people including fans of the characters were upset about this and was expecting alot of new, fun and modern twists to the characters.

What really frustrates me is that Looney Tunes was more than just a cartoon, it changed animation and cinema as a whole alongside Disney, and other famous films during the last hundreds of years.

Max literally destroyed these classics because it wasn't enough for adult and family programming and deemed it as children's content not having enough of an audience.

Looney Tunes wasn't aimed for children to begin with. It was aimed more at an adult audience which is true because there are times when a character puts up a weapon to the other guy's mouth. Also I hate the saying "Pop Culture kids won't get" because it was obviously made back in the 30s-60s of course they won't get it until they gain further knowledge to the old stuff which is rare and not quite everyone's taste. I certainly like pop culture references a little because i know what the creators like or have interest in to put it in their work. Like as for example, the crew must've loved radio shows like The Jack Benny Program for adding a few lines for laughs.

This alongside Sesame Street were taken off. I believe that the government nowadays is taking away the most important stuff in the entire world. I know I'm not that big on Sesame Street but I do believe it's one of the best shows younger audiences should watch because it has one of the most creative, moral, and strong lessons and characters I seen in all of TV history.

They literally think that AI, Cocomelon, Digital blandness and money is going to be a solution to the planet Earth. Earth isn't always blues and greens, it's something about the atmosphere, a little bit of serious but also a bit of fun too. I've been hearing alot of horrifying stuff about Chinese schools and how they're desperate for children to be a perfectionist, which is utterly hard to be because I know I'm not perfect, everyone has flaws and that's what makes us normal.

If I was taking control and changing the planet, I would make an issue to just ban everything AI related and bring back originality and creativity. People don't understand that the Earth isn't just a sphere, it was created by the best being, God itself. And you know that they were doing it for creativity and craft to make us alive and healthy. It's sad that now it's the opposite and everything is beginning to be fake news.

If we want to respect Looney Tunes and bring it back it's going to be more hard to manage because not everything can last forever, but for a iconic and fantastic franchise, we hope to see future generations reacting to the older stuff. Heck I'm here listening to 40s music, watching old films myself, so why doesn't anyone want to experience something in the past? Everyone should do it at least once, maybe it'll be life-changing or inspiring to them. I know alot people love the newer stuff, I kinda like it too, but it doesn't have to be this forced and immediately limited.

I also think other characters like Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, and Spongebob deserve more respect than what's happened to them nowadays.

We should have a future where we get another 2D Disney animated movie, an actual good Tom and Jerry movie, and not push Spongebob too much, but also keep it's audience fair and entertained.

Now to end it off, here is one of my favorite quotes to one of the best characters of all time.

The Coolest Cowboy In Films : Pecos Bill - Melody Time (1948)
