Christmas Aesthetics

It's officially 2 weeks till Christmas.

I'm actually excited because everything I experienced except for school was really interesting. And I can't wait to see what gifts I get even though that's obviously not what Christmas is.

How 'bout some wintery christmas aesthetics and some Artmania Spirit Of Christmas art?

These are my 2 proudest achievements, Szac and Dredd.

Love this one.

Circa. 1930s

This will probably be the official concept poster for Spirit Of Christmas.

Eyvind Earle is a painter that needs more love. This is a fantastic painting.

I made a few characters I created to be singing in the final song of the special.

People need to stop complaining about saying that the world was black and white. If people are still thinking about that worthless theory, send them this painting. It was made in 1874 and looks incredible.

Mike and Truffles

A nice appealing scene in Pluto's Christmas Tree (1952)

Also has a underrated poster.

Some cool Bugs Bunny winter art.

I really liked Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer's 60s animation. It's memorable and has a sweet aesthetic to it. I'm probably the only one who adores the art style of these specials the most.

Poolio and his tiny trusted umbrella 🌂

To end things off, Saturday Evening Post has had alot of winter aesthetic magazines. This one is the most appealing to me. It may not have a serviceable background but look at these guys skiing. It's got remarkable detail.

Kinda reminds me of something.

Artmania Christmas Special - Songs

Last time I talked about a song I will definitely make official with my christmas special and that's my own version of 12 Days Of Christmas.

It'll be a funny one.

But what are some other songs that I have planned?

This is going to be remarkable. I have to hire an actual band to play a wintery like song for everyone.

Vinn Kringle is a spoof of Glenn Miller. He's the main leader of the band and plays the trombone just like Miller.

His team consist of many unique traits.

You can have people to be normal.

Or someone internally insane.

I called the song "The Merryside Melody". I was originally going to name it The Merry Melody but that seems obvious right?

We're back with the tree. I'm actually going to name him Truffles. Yes silly, but works and is quite rare too.

Truffles appears in a few music sequences throughout the special.

I already made it clear that he will be in a top hat while the Vinn Kringle Merryside Melody plays.

But he'll also perform his main song, "I Know I'll Get There"

It teaches how strong and alive you really are if you want to find a good place to be.

I was thinking about what Truffles's singing style will act like. Definitely mixed with my favorite classic actors, Gene Kelly.

This man was awesome.

The next song will be more shorter than usual. I would like to hire a soothing vocalist with this one. I call it Walkin' In Snow. It's sort of more relaxing and is a slow ballad type but not too emotional or sad.

THE MILKY FACTORY

This factory was a close companion next with The North Pole. It was founded in the early 1950s. The factory consists on 7 factory workers in a middle sized area where they engineer trees and make delicious hot chocolate in medium sized cups.

This is what there outfit looks like.

Note : Rarely do humans actually were serviced in this place. There was a total of 6 humans in the last 70 or so years.

The current 7 workers in the Milky Factory are a deer, dog, cat, bear, duck, bird and apparently a sock.

I got that idea from a Bing Crosby album cover. It has a sock in the tree and I thought it was funny so I went on making a character of it.

The reason why The Milky Factory was such a good idea was that it was a inspiration on the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White. I thought they were fantastic in that film. And the simple, unoriginal names I gave my characters were referenced by the names of the Dwarfs.

And what is the song going to be about?

Making hot chocolates!

Lastly is the finale song. I don't have an official name with it yet but it centers around Truffles finally finding his good place, he will be staying with a bunch of energetic amusing trees like this.

The finale song has to be incredible somehow. It's the final song of the special, so we can't make it too disappointing.

I certainly had inspiration for an energetic feel of this one like with the 30s Fleischer Cartoons like Bimbo's Initation (1931).

And of course the other songs will be the first 2 songs, White Christmas and Silent Night, both at the same time.

Next time... 👀

Artmania Christmas Special - The Other Characters

This will be a limited on-going series throughout December where I'll go on talking about my future project for a Christmas special I want to make. I know I most definitely not be only involved with it, that's just silly. So whenever I do have a helping hand and get a good job, I should definitely think of the future of my animated films.

And that's what's with Artmania's Spirit Of Christmas.

Last time I talked about the tree and my first official storyboards for it.

And now I'm willing to talk about the introduction.

Know who he is? This is my main character, Dredd The Moose, the dimwitted but lovable citizen of Artmania. This is him wearing a scarf and a few sketches of him with mittens.

I gave an idea on what the introduction to the special will lead to. A few homeless people are out cold and shivering, Dredd spots them in the cold, but what does Dredd do?

Dredd is going to sing to them and make them have a better December.

My best option is either he sings White Christmas or Silent Night or probably both, who knows?

Dredd will of course sing very well and have a more soothing voice since those songs sound chill and relaxing.

What's Opera Doc? (1957) is a cartoon that is really iconic and amusing even though I don't love it myself, I do have to say Bugs's animation at the start when he sings is fantastic here.

I would like to animate those proportions.

It would fit Dredd's singing perfectly even though I'm not stealing all of the animated frames of course.

Classic Animated Model Sheets are overlooked nowadays for animators and artists. It's kind of a shame, but I respect animation today, I think it's awesome.

I just don't think we'll ever get to see true genius forms of art like this anymore. So I gave it my best shot to bring it back!

Thanks Preston Blair!

I also did a height chart because why not.

Now it's the next main character, Szac.

He's the most relatable and reserved. I certainly have alot of fun making this guy's personality shine. He's kind of a mix between Moe Howard, Cary Grant and Bing Crosby.

And now the best part, The Tree! I swear I'm going to have to name him Truffles, and that's just silly to begin with.

Anyways all kidding aside, I don't have to go deep into his decided name. It's still alot of time and what matters is that he exists.

I made a sketch of him with a top hat sort a 30s classic musical style. Sorta like Fred Astaire.

Finally, the new walk of the century, The Tree Walk.

Well, that's all I have to offer.

Here is a sneak peek on what tomorrow will be referencing to.

Artmania Christmas Special - Tree

December just hit and while it's not my favorite month ever, it's definitely has one of the best holiday in existence.

The 2nd film I'm planning to officially make is a special.

I made a new character that will be in the special but I don't have a name for him yet.
First I wanted to name him Truffles. It sounds silly but it might work, I don't know. How about a few days and I will give him the good name.

Model sheet time. 🌲

The personality of this tree is described as comical and helpful. Not to forget he hates ornaments. He was kinda set up to be a comic relief.

While he is more comedic to the audience and does get the attention he'll deserve, he is mostly the most important part of the special. He isn't played off by something annoying like the Minions or trend-bait like Olaf is.

I have some storyboard like drawings I made.

Enjoy.

Pretty cool so far, huh?

I have more stuff to think about when making this an actual product.

Tomorrow I will be talking about Dredd The Moose's scenes.

Friday Out On The Farm

Today was an interesting day, I went out and went to a farm, shopping and got pumpkins. I was drawing concepts of an actual mascot to the ...
