Tex Avery - My Main Influence And Animation Hero

Tex Avery was described as The King Of Cartoons and I stand by that as well. I'm so happy I could love this guy's art. He's one of the best cartoonists of all time.

He made characters that would become iconic like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Droopy. Every character he pretty much made were iconic.

My first experience with Tex Avery is with a Looney Tunes cartoon called I Love To Singa (1936). Pretty reasonable, really. It's a great cartoon, even though back then when I watched this when I was like 11 or something, I never wanted to feel the "old" style of cartoons. But I kinda had a secret side that I really liked how they look.

Back then I loved cartoons and films that were just funny, adventurous, and of course wanted to break the 4th wall at some point. Before my days where I didn't truly get a feel for Tex Avery, I still liked Spongebob and Looney Tunes.

I pretty much really liked this guy when I started to watch every Looney Tunes cartoon last year. I love almost every Looney Tunes short by his.

My first ever MGM cartoon I watched that had involvement with Tex Avery was probably Batty Baseball (1944). That short is hilarious and I like baseball alot. I remember watching baseball with my parents on the TV when I was a kid. Good times.

My interest for Tex Avery was getting more higher. I watched Screwball Squirrel and it was hilarious. Screwy Squirrel himself is just crazy and I love it.

Then I seen Red Hot Riding Hood (1943) and it was the most hilarious things I ever seen. I never laughed this hard at a classic cartoon. I had no idea Tex Avery was that much of a genius since I seen all of his Looney Tunes cartoons and thought it was just simple good fun. I started to love his animation more and more the days roll by.

Tex Avery was becoming my main influence. I just loved his style that I drawn characters like his.

He was amazing.

Rest in peace, Tex Avery 1908-1980 your work of art will never be missed. 🙂
