I really missed the time when creativity was actually what people wanted to see the most. And since I believe that, I think it still should be possible.
Disney's first movie was Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs (1937), it's still warm, simple and beautiful to look at to this day.
Last friday the new Snow White movie has officially been released. What I heard from that movie is that it changes the story and has alot of different character development. From what I seen, I don't really hate the visuals, some of it is kinda appealing but I'm not watching the film. I think it's absolutely disrespectful and a cash-grab just like every other live action remake made this decade so far.
All of the animated Disney movies even the bad ones had personality, and the amount of effort and heart that went with these films should be praised even more.
This frame is really appealing. All the dwarfs are recognizable and portrayed perfectly. The characters have the right amount of colors to fit in the mysterious atmosphere. There isn't too much dark tones but not too bright either. It's perfect.
This movie lasted an hour and 23 minutes, and has alot of focus and memorable songs. They don't need to have too much things happening, and the characters are all logical and straightforward just like with most classic cartoons.
Scary things in these movies can be fun and appealing. They're really in your face for a reason. Whenever movies go for a dark and spooky tone nowadays, they don't even try enough and they don't have those fun devilish expressions that'll keep you invested anymore. The animators had alot of passion with adding what works but nowadays it feels too forced and acts like schoolwork.
The characters don't need to be full of personality, but I also don't like them to be bland and uninteresting either. These characters all have interesting personalities including the queen and prince. They all have rich and playful designs and is easy to appreciate. Even if you don't like the film, you cannot simply hate it because of how important and iconic it is. There is well amount of story-telling and the sound quality isn't obnoxious, it sounds so whimsical and warm. I would love to watch this movie again. I find it amazing myself. It's just like how ambitious yet fun Disney was back in the golden age.
In my opinion I think the world is way too serious nowadays. I'm not willing to work for a popular company at this point in time. They are legitimately taking away important things and only care about grades and money.
Movies are getting sequels, and live action remakes. 2D, musicals, and big band music don't exist anymore and I think that's disappointing.
Eh, at least I'm trying to understand what's happening in this chaotic world we're living in.
