The Worst Cartoons Looney Tunes Had To Offer

Looney Tunes is one of my favorite cartoons. I was kinda obsessed with it at early teen years. Timeless characters, fantastic action, and lively backgrounds, it's a franchise that inspired me to draw like the Looney Tunes.

But sometimes, Looney Tunes has made some really uncomfortable, bland, boring, and offensive cartoons.

Note - Some of these cartoons can be extremely offensive and not pitched at all audiences. So if your trying to stay away from the Censored 11, you might want to back out, or not take it too seriously. I don't like it either.

So I'm going to talk about The Top 10 Worst Looney Tunes Shorts. This was hard for me to do because a few of these shorts I picked have at least one positive. I don't think all Looney Tunes shorts are that abysmal. But these I would not want to watch anymore.

10

Hare-Abian Nights (1959)

Honestly this is one of the laziest cartoons in the entire Looney Tunes catalog. I wasn't disappointed, but I wished it was better or it didn't exist. The reason why I think this is the worst clip-show in all of Looney Tunes, is because there are a few other Bugs Bunny clip-shows, and those at least were more coherent. This was not necessary. The Elvis joke was unfunny, and Yosemite Sam as the sultan was kinda lame. This isn't a terrible short, but I didn't felt like it needed to exist.

Let It Be Me (1936)

This short film I didn't care for when I first saw it. It was kinda annoying. Then I was researching this cartoon and realized it actually got sued. The short film's main character is Mr. Bingo which is supposed to be a poorly made spoof of Bing Crosby, and surprisingly he's one of my favorite classic hollywood actors and singers. In fact he watched this film and sued Schelsinger for the bad portrayal. And yeah, I can see why. It's one of the most messed up films Looney Tunes made. Emily herself is the most annoying character ever. I have to say this, the designs of the characters are solid. But everything else about it feels like a failure. Freleng then made another cartoon that was based on Bing Crosby called Bingo Crosbyana. That cartoon also did not age well. It's kinda better than Let It Be Me honestly, but that's not saying much.

Injun Trouble (1969)

This is Looney Tunes's final cartoon and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty bad. How is this the finale of the most iconic cartoons ever? It kinda doesn't matter because this cartoon has a decent enough ending punchline. This cartoon isn't the most offensive. The reason it's because their is Native Americans, a bunch of them. The gags don't land, and I didn't like the music either. It's not a terrible cartoon at all, it's kinda pleasent enough to look at, but it's not genuinely a funny cartoon for the most part.

7

Buddy's Bug Hunt (1935)

This is the worst Buddy cartoon. Buddy himself is nothing special, but I kinda like his cartoons and personality more than Bosko. This cartoon is really irritating, and there's a reason why I think it's the worst. It's mostly Buddy being tortured by insects for a few minutes. I know that's not alot of time, but it gets old pretty fast. There's also a really boring song in this cartoon. There is better nightmare cartoons, but there is also worst ones. This one to me was worthless.

6

September In The Rain (1937)

This has gotta be the most boring Looney Tunes shorts ever. Like seriously, some of these animation sequences were done better before, and the designs of the characters to me feel nauseous, not trying to be harsh. I also didn't like the animation on the bit with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. This was a cartoon I would not want to watch again. I have uncomfortable feelings for it.

5

Angel Puss (1944)

The Censored 11 cartoons are a mixed bag. There are a few cartoons I really enjoy, and some I think are the worst. And Angel Puss is one of those. This is Chuck Jones's worst Looney Tune easily. It's extremely cruel, and sluggish. The gags are also awful in this one. There absolutely racist. I don't see anyone liking this short film. Only positive, is that the nighttime aesthetic is at least good.

4

Jungle Jitters (1938)

Wow, this somewhat exists. I pretty much dislike everything about this cartoon. The villagers designs are extremely offensive and uncomfortable and the queen, oh god, I hate it so much. This is unfunny, racist, utterly inappropriate and unpleasant. I would not recommend you watching it. It's clearly offensive to all audiences.

3

Goin' To Heaven On A Mule (1934)

This was considered to be one of the worst Looney Tunes shorts, it's not the absolute worst, but yeah, it's pretty bad and it shocked me. Friz Freleng back then was wild. He's definitely interesting, I guess. The animation in my opinion is smooth, and the song is at least pleasant but I would say it gets worse. It's offensive, every human is in black-face, and the plot is just pointless. I would say this cartoon is kinda better handled then well, Number 2 on the list and that is-

2

Sunday Go To Meetin' Time (1936)

Unpopular opinion, this is worse than Goin' To Heaven On A Mule. At least that cartoon did not dealt with these annoying devil creatures because I hated looking at that scene. Seriously what was with black people and these horrific nightmares? There just people. It's horribly wrong nowadays, and the songs to me felt really unpleasant. I hated this one. It's the worst of the Censored 11 in my opinion.

And now for the Dishonorable Mentions

1. The Merry Old Soul (1935)

This cartoon I would say has an ok plot, but man I hate babies crying in cartoons, the ending was also pretty bad, but its no-where to be the absolute worst.

2. The Gay Anties (1947)

This isn't a truly bad cartoon, yeah there's that awful song at the middle of the cartoon, but it's not as bad as the other cartoons. There's some funny moments. But that's me mentioning it because I remember disliking it, but now I appreciate it a little bit more than I give credit for.

3. Country Boy (1935)

I dislike this one. But it's not that unpleasant. Most of it is cutesy and not interesting but the last bit with the lawn mower was what made this one at least give it points.

Now for Number 1...

1

Tokio Jokio (1943)

Not the worst thing ever, but definitely the worst of Looney Tunes. I would've seen this at least acceptable back in 1943, but nowadays I never cared for this one. The gags, and offensive designs are uncomfortable, it's just a historic propaganda cartoon, I didn't want to watch, but since last year I decide to watch all 1,003 cartoons, I watched it, and it's the worst.
I have no negative feelings about this cartoon, it's like one of those abstract cartoons and flickering films back in the 60s, I try to stay away.

In the next few days or so I'm willing to talk about My Top 10 Favorite Looney Tunes Shorts. They are more watchable, colorful, and comedic. All of these Looney Tunes shorts I mentioned don't feel like Looney Tunes. That's why I always focus on the all time greats of mine.

Hope you enjoyed this. I certainly liked doing this. It's my opinion, so don't take it too seriously. I will not except or care about your hate on my opinions.
