Talking About John K...

I have alot to say about the guy who created Ren and Stimpy, he isn't a good person but something about his art style and drawings have honestly been stuck in my head ever since.

I like the cartoon even though I don't think it's one of my favorites. It's had it's influence for a very long time and the reason why I watched it and grew up with it so badly was that it's humor felt so simple and makes you feel and experience something with it at times and also was inspired by so many amazing cartoons like Bob Clampett's work.

By the time I was completely drawn with the show, I already admired Clampett's wacky energy and simple fast-moving characters.

Big House Blues caught me off guard when I first saw it. I'm not usually a fan of the "never make the same face twice" rule mostly because it ends up looking weird and it's just the sake of laughs which I can't relate to but here it's really well-animated and influential.

It's not a masterpiece. This pilot to Ren and Stimpy may be a little too erratic at times, but I appreciated the chaotic energy of this and it's one of the most influential films I ever watched.

I think what I liked about Kricfalusi's work is his character designs. They are so unique and funny looking that I honestly made more human characters.

Just look at these guys.

While I liked Ren and Stimpy and Kricfalusi's artwork, I think by far his best art he's ever made was his 80s drawings.

I really adore these. The aesthetic and characters easily fit my style especially with the Looney Tunes one. Sometimes I draw those characters and mix it up with two cartoons in of itself.
I can easily see that the picture is a mix of A Corny Concerto and Kitty Kornered.

This is probably the most important topic I'm able to talk about. John K's Blog.

I have alot to say about his blog. I have visited his blog almost every day to this point.

While I don't agree with everything he says, his personal viewing of classic cartoons and old movies are what I love about his blog. And honestly him not liking the CGI and 80s shows is kinda entertaining even if I don't agree with
all of his opinions.

His writing is also really good and sometimes can be a little funny, to me at least. This blog actually got me into learning how classic cartoons work and how the best ones are the ones that feel lively and real.

The pictures he also chose were really well-crafted and I saved a little bit of his pictures. It makes me appreciate Looney Tunes directors such as McKimson and Clampett even more.

Heck, it even got me into one of these things.

In fact, this blog actually got me into making my own blog in the first place. Thanks to him and others like Yowp, and The Likely, Looney, Mostly Merrie blog. Yeah I can't believe I'm saying that, since he isn't the best person to be around in the animation industry.

Everything definitely went down-hill for Kricfalusi when he made Ren and Stimpy into an adult show. But for it's abysmal episodes, I still really liked how well-drawn it was even though it had censored moments.

I mean just look at this stuff. How can I not love this?

I have a few drawings I made that represent the Ren and Stimpy style really well.

I may not love everything about John K's work I mean the flash cartoons he did were kinda stupid, and Cans Without Labels while a guilty pleasure of mine, did so badly.

He has made an influence for over 3 decades, and he should still be remembered despite his abusive behavior back then.

I have a ton of respect for Ren and Stimpy, and I think they're absolutely funny characters and I can thank them for being a part of my current childhood.
