Looney Tunes And Merrie Melodies Comics

Looney Tunes has made comics since they were popular on the movie screen. I would've loved these back in the day. More adventures with Bugs and Porky.

I love how warm these colors are. It's so unforgettable, and gets attention.

I have a few comic covers that I think are really fun to look at. The color palette and simple backgrounds kinda fit my art personality very well. I swear I wanna steal these colors.

Including this one. This has a Curious George like background. The yellowish vintage.

Looney Tunes Comics have evolved. It has more detail and adds more memorable characters. I love these and I have one of them in my collection.

In terms of colors, they are vibrant and pleasing but I would rather prefer the old vintage ones best.

This one's cool though.

The Looney Tunes comics wasn't certainly known for their best with the designs in my opinion. They look rather poor and off model.

So as the strips. It's definitely got effort and they aren't copying and pasting the same picture, but it's kinda basic and heck some of these comics Porky doesn't stutter. The characters just feel out of the ordinary.

I would say the comics were better in the late 50s and 60s with the shaded covers. I love these.

This is probably my favorite cover. Besides the shaded ones.

BIG NEWS! 💥

I got done the last animated segment with my drafted Bud Light commercial. This was definitely harder than the other two, but I'm proud of it. Enjoy!

The cat says "Yes" since he only wanted the Bud Light.

The waiter then hands over it and says "Well, here ya go, Bud."

The cat then grabs it with grace and says the Bud Light slogan, "Easy To Drink",
drinks the can, and then shows the final line of the slogan, "Easy To Enjoy".

Hey. It's better than most commercials today. Most commercials mostly add a dumb pop culture joke or only care about money.

This took me about a week to finish and a few hours to get all the frames in.

TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN 🎃

Finally. I've been waiting for this.

Have a good day and hopefully next month is a good one.

Bye-a!

Of Course...

It's that time of the year, Christmas. When it's not even Halloween at least in my state I guess.

I can't wait for both Halloween and Christmas to come. I'm pretty much going to have alot of awesome gifts.

When people are just advertising Christmas commercials, they probably have anxiety and are driven. They probably like the holiday too much. I get it, it's autumn. December hits, it's still Autumn, but I mean come on, October hasn't even ended and we still have time to appreciate Thanksgiving, even though I don't go crazy for it.

So...

I just wanted to draw Christmas stuff early.
I made The North Pole crew.

I made my own version of Santa 2 years ago,

I wanted to change the design to make it more appealing and rubbery like how classic animation usually is.

I mean heck, I haven't drew this guy in over a course of a few months.

Redesign

October has been a long month and I'm glad it's ending with my favorite holiday, Halloween.
It's also been hella cold. ❄️
That time to wear jackets and a scarf.

Tomorrow I will be talking about the wholesome warmth of the vintage Looney Tunes comics.

International Animation Day

I had no idea that there was a international day in animation, but we are now in it as of October 28th. I'm proud to be able to celebrate animation and what it's done to the world.

I made a poster of my favorite characters.

And as a gift, I made the 2nd segment to the Bud Light Commercial.

So what's happening in this scene is that a random soda can hits Hippo's head until the waiter realizes, the soda explodes and causes a mess. He apologizes saying "I'm sorry" and then says "Were you lookin' for this?" and showcases the real Bud Light.

I have at least 2 more to show and the draft is complete.

I love animation, and since drawing has been my main hobby I would love to continue learning to animate like classic animation.

Animation can be fun to watch for all ages and should be appreciated as a medium, not a genre since alot of people admire it.

However you gotta be keeping track of what animation is brought in store.

Nowadays animation has completely been dogwater with content farms on YouTube, and Cocomelon.

Do not consider watching those as an active hobby. Euuugh. 😖

Father's Fun Week-End Scenes And Backgrounds

I watched this Disney short recently called Father's Week-End (1953) and I gotta say this short film was astonishing to look at in terms of backgrounds. Of course the animation was fantastic, it was directed by Jack Kinney, my favorite Disney director.

I have some very appealing scenes to show you. The color palette is massive. Even if they are remastered, they are detailed so lively and real.

I'm willing to talk more about Jack Kinney and his Disney cartoons. He's overlooked for alot of reasons and easily shaped the 40s and 50s for Disney and made it more funnier and smart.

Ben Buzzard

This guy only appeared once. That's it. How the heck does this character not get more recognition? Well since I'm talking about him, maybe it might he might get the credit he deserves.

Beaky Buzzard is the funniest buzzard for sure but I would say the best buzzard design is Ben in The Flying Jalopy (1943).

At the start, his facial detail is impressive and badass.

The plot is simple. Donald is willing to pay money to fly an airplane but gets into a lot of challenges while flying. Ben Buzzard wants Donald to cause an accident but Donald is at his best focusing, good for him.

While Donald flies his plane, Ben gets the best rage moments in this cartoon.

This is a funny animated frame.

I know these are not exactly in order, but I can't blame it, these are some expressive animated frames when they start to fall off and the plane is about to get destroyed.

This short film while it's not a masterpiece, I mean I cannot say it is because of the animation, but as is the animation got me hooked, Ben Buzzard is an overlooked character and could've been a fun character if he had more apperances.

As is I think a character like this, is what I wanted my animated characters to look like.

I mean if you read alot of my posts on this blog, you can tell I love the acting of Bob Clampett's cartoons.

Next post I'll talk more on Artmania stuff!

Starting To Animate - Commercial

What a rough day school was today, during my free-time when I did all my work, I did something masterful that I had to record it.

I started to test out animating.

I used a more cheaper website to animate. Brush Ninja.

Check this out.

Yep. Also what's going on in this video is that this is what I might do to start my animation career. Making short advertisements.

The cat says "HEY YOU" and points directly at his hippo friend.

The cat then says "Can Ya Give Me Bud Light?"

Yes that was what came on the top of my head.

A commercial about a drink no-one seems to care about. But I thought it would roll the tongue.

The hippo then calls out the waiter and finally says

"He's coming to get it."

There will be more. That's just the beginning.

I'm proud with what I made and even made a little poster to show it off.

The advertisements I wanted to make are similar to the classic animated commercials in the 50s to 60s. They were way more fun and understandable than today's commercials.

The animation is clearly inspired by Clampett's cat designs.

And also had some smear animation.

Like with this.

Whenever I have the time to get working on commercials in the future, I'm not going right away to animate my main characters like Dredd The Moose and Ox Fisher. I'm willing to use more generic characters I have made like with these characters.

Haredevil Hare (1948)

The more I re-watch the old Looney Tunes shorts, the more they feel nostalgic, and simple to watch. There are still countless of iconic Lo...
