Over the course of Spring Break, I still managed to create alot of drawings. This is Chef Walrus. His priority is to create the most delicious thing possible even if it's unhealthy.
When creating characters, I always try my best to make each character look different and interesting instead of having doppelgangers or designs that are too surreal or abstract.
The best group of character designs I ever seen are The Muppets. Look at how different and distinctive they are. They have interesting features and cool outfits that fit their design perfectly.
Disney has a wide selection of variety to their character designs.
I'm the only person that genuinely likes a roto-scoped character like The Blue Fairy in a movie filled with more cartoonish characters.
The amount of memorable character designs in one of these movies is what makes Classic Disney really sweet and lovable. Back then the original tales were dark as heck, they had horrific endings. So what did Disney do to them? Make them more friendly and probably more fun to all audiences.
This is my least favorite of the Disney Character Guide. While I love the 30s classic Mickey and Minnie designs, I feel completely uncomfortable by the rest. Morty and Ferdie are characters I myself don't see make myself. These characters are both copied each other, which can be hard to tell which ones who.
I wish more animation studios and other film companies would make something like this. Because it's really amusing. These are my favorite types of books, where you learn about the animation and characters you like and get to know more about them or learn something new within a few pages.
These books are a must buy.
Anyways, let's get with the actual drawings.
I did more of the pixie elf.
I like drawing small characters the best hence why I draw him so often. Here's him casually walking and kicking to the beat.
I made Santa so why not create Mr. Easter Bunny as his dearest fans call him.
This isn't really recent art. But it is something I'm willing to do more often, study Preston Blair's character modeling. It was really fun. All last night that one day, I was just drawing so much of these random animals.
You should definitely check out one of his animation reels. I've been obsessed with those lately. There's probably a full playlist of timeless and classic animators back in the 30s-50s that have tributes to their own work.
I have this little notebook I kept for more than a decade, it's loaded with a bunch of junk. Apparently in it was scribbles, random word-play, but I decided, hey, there's a few blank pages left in it.
I was looking through pages of the Preston Blair book and found some UPA designed characters on it. Really interesting. Then out of my head, I drew this guy with a pony-tail.
The golden age of animation back then had the best animal/creature designs. I can tell what which one resembles to. They all look cute and appealing.
While I tend to like their appeal, I don't think it always works. I'm not especially entertained by too much of the short films. Something like Paul Terry's Dinky Duck or Gandy Goose shorts don't particularly interest me. They're well-drawn but I don't appreciate everything else.
This is coming from a person who has restricted interests for the most part. Loving a cartoon is quite rare for me since thousands of short films tend to have the same premise, same antics repeatedly, sometimes feels even distracted and not necessarily funny, but hey, if I'm not a fan, then why do I need to watch em in the first place?
When I'm watching a cartoon with actual human beings in animated form, it's somewhat different to experience.

It feels rather more mature. Back then I didn't really care for these type of characters, now I'm over here creating alot of them.
Here's a human I made. I named him Leuis because having his first
name be some other letter would've been kinda unsuitable.
Definitely suitable for being a protagonist though. I usually wear pony-tails out in public, so that little addition makes it more unique.
I'll color the full version of this drawing soon.
Leuis is inspired by combinations of human characters. Ichabod, and Johnny Appleseed. I'm still trying to give him personality so he won't end up being bland.
A recent addition to the artmania girl gang, Gabriela Motorella. She's the first of the 3 most popular female dancers in the artmania world.
Animation doesn't have enough female characters. They're pretty common nowadays but I don't think you've seen too much back in the 30s-50s which is a shame because just like men, women are strong, smart, intelligent and want to make the world a better place.
This drawing I used different ink pens to give attention to more detail and sharp affects. This is Captain Redington II. He's been taking advantage across the seas for over 6 decades.
This expression shows shock. It's the first drawing of him, trust me he isn't always like this.
Lastly here's some more new additions.
