Ever just found something very interesting and cool at a store and you just want to post it even if it's something related to the holidays but we're (sigh) only 7 1/2 months away from it?!
This is what I bought at Goodwill. Yes, call me silly but Goodwill can be fun sometimes, it ain't only clothes, there is some cool collectibles and DVDs.
There's barely any recognition for the oldies especially Bing Crosby. I get the change of what's trending or poppin' lately and people come from what they're drawn to best. I mean I'm definitely not that person who wants to say, "EVERYTHIN', EVERY PRODUCT HAS TO BE SOMETHIN' FROM THE 1920s T' THE 1940s!" No. I get people's appeal to things.
To me I think it just has to do with the enjoyment and joyfulness. And to me when I listen to stuff from Como, Day, Nat King Cole, Bing and Louis I just smile. I have no problem being happy with musicians I enjoy listening to. Maybe it's just the smaller elements, the lyrics the melody the tone of the singer's voice etc.
This holiday season, I'm in to introduce these greats of vintage music to my loved ones. They'll show you what the true spirit and love of Christmas is really about.
Is it me or does the red highlighting give off the feel of the nostalgia that I remember hearing these artists and hearing the warm vintage quality of the songs?
I was surprised when there was a flip book for this CD songbook. It just made the whole thing alot more impressive.
Whoa, I actually never heard of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" ever. Sure I'm not a Christmas songologist, but I can't wait to get myself into that song eventually, but those lyrics!
There were some Christmas songs that not only became hits on radio, but movies too. What great sense. It has happened with non-Christmas songs as well. Also very neat and generous for them to text "Happy Holidays!"
Overall a rare but neat collectible find. I'm liking the appreciation.
There will be another Golden Age on my exploration blog someday but almost 2 years and 300 posts, it's safe to say I done a whole lot. And me taking breaks from it is necessary.
You know how people always think to themselves they would watch something that feels special to them, maybe it's something old, but they've wished to be living in that decade?
Some people might say the 80s, the 60s, the 70s, to me it would be the 40s.

Everything about this decade was fantastic. But what about other decades?
I love the 1930s too. So does the 50s, every other decade is good but not as powerful. That being said I think alot of good has happened after the golden age of entertainment passed on, but man the 30s to the 50s, were probably the best the entire world has to offer.
When I watch an old film, I like how more logical and sensible the characters and actions are. This was also the course where things start to get even funnier.
Throughout the course of the early 20th century, films were silent, and you couldn't even get the knowledge of laughing too much or relating to the characters.
The late 20s, to early 30s, everyone was talkin' and it became more lively and natural.
There was a potential rise to cartoons as well. There were a few exceptions to cartoons back then like Out Of The Inkwell, and Winsor McCay's shorts but that's it really.
There was strong characters in the 30s through the 50s. Every character that is still considered popular today was created this period of the century.

Man, I would've lived my whole life expecting something fresh and iconic more commonly than today. Disney Movies were a big exception by the 30s-40s.
The reason why I think the later Disney movies don't do much to me anymore it's because of the amount of dialogue you have to be awake to.
This is Bambi, a movie that barely has any dialogue whatsoever. Sure, it does have some speaking in it, but it isn't stuffed with drama too often. Not to mention that the calm and quiet environments is what makes a movie focus.
I imagined Artmania especially my TV show to have dancing scenes and music just like the classics because you just can't beat THE CLASSICS!
When I worked on Artmania's Spirit Of Christmas last December, one post I payed tribute to the big bands like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and Tommy Dorsey. With all those unique and stylish names, I created band leader, Vinn Kringle.
What happened to this type of music? Where did it go?
I seem to think every musician and song I love best doesn't get the impact and recognition they really deserve anymore. I know we have to move forward, but it really staggers me that for such a chaotic world we're living in right now, I can't see why the most calm piece of entertainment is hidden by most people. I mean it's free to experience and explore around.
YouTube isn't all about content farms and trends you know.
If your a fan of classics and both exploring social media, you would know you shouldn't be afraid to search random clips of talents and performances. You don't have to pay online for movies if you don't want to, you can just freely experience around 2-5 minutes of fun.
Speak for yourself.
The Andrews Sisters were special to me. I remember first experiencing and listening to their biggest hits, and something about these three just felt easy to appreciate and they had a sense of humor mostly when they were on screen.
Attractiveness
There was something so unique about how people looked and dressed like back in the golden age of hollywood.
Judy Garland is one of those actresses that shine just the way you look at the fashion, and style. I truly love her, her singing voice is full of beauty.
The Amount Of Funny Stuff You'll Get
I watched a few Three Stooges shorts lately and I think it's one of the most hilarious series of entertainment I ever seen.
If you get the outlandish speech given with one of the characters, you'll easily find it more normal to experience. The jokes and gags felt more creative and simple back then.
Tex Avery for example would add a sign to one of his cartoons and I always found those to be hilarious since it's a sign of reality.
I also think this is how comedy should work and not a bunch of horrendously bad celebrity roasts and shock value.
Drawn Energy
I call it this because these films can easily get stuck in your mind, and whenever your playing a song that sounds groovy to listen to, you can draw your mind into the classic animated movements of characters or real people dancing along with the song.
Remember The Three Caballeros? I usually have those dance scenes drawn into me even ever since I first watched them.
This is one of my favorite scenes from that movie.
You see movie posters nowadays, they look good, but they're kinda lazy in terms of the cast of characters.
When I look at these, it just warms my heart because artists back then used their artistic skills to paint all these people and advertise it.
This is me bringing back that old-school spirit.
The best decades of all time relate to my drawing style and perspective of how I view creativity and knowledge.
I hope you all liked what I enjoy about these decades and their wonderful chemistry of entertainment and timeless value.
Whenever someone asks me I should do an actual TV show, I would absolutely love to make one.
You know those shows where they would showcase live performances or have a show where they showcase variety of different shorts?
I want to do that type of stuff.
That's like what the Bugs Bunny show mostly does. They would have new animated scenes here and there and would show you a theatrical short from their library.
Mainly, having a show with different created characters and longer form of story-telling doesn't fit well for me.
Having complexity and deeper character development ruins the original feel to my artwork.
🎶 THEME SONG 🎵
Mostly every show has a theme song, unless every show should have some sort of opening.
My idea for my theme song to this show is to have a jazzy, upbeat tone to it.
Some instruments include saxaphone, drums, and flute would be nice. 🎷
The first 5 seconds will have some sorta broadcasting company as the presentation.
And in the ending, the announcer says, "It's The Artmania Show!"
"Filled with music, comedy and stories!"
During the intro, my 3 main characters would rush through and have their names shown in italics.
FIRST 5 MINUTES AND GUESTS
What's important to a show, is introducing the characters. The pilot is just straightforward. But I want it to be at least interesting somehow.
Usually after the theme song, there will be a curtain and my 3 boys will say their names like this.
Phillips- Hiya, welcome to the show, I'm Phillips
Szac - I'm Szac.
Dredd - And Dredd is my name, absolutely!
One of the 3 men will talk about what they will show for us, either it would be a high-spirited musical number, short film or introducing new and interesting characters.
I already came up with some already.
John Softmore - A young fella who comes by and meets with the gang on stage after his day at high school. He showcases what he learned in one of his classes.
The Ninja Brothers - A spoof of The Nicholas Brothers, these two martial art masters show us their amazing trained skills to the audience.
K.R Pinley - He's described as one of the best modern entertainers in the Artmania world. He's a piano master player, and sings alot of classic and funny songs.
Hotti Jyotti - An island bird who can shape-shift into anything he wants. Kinda almost like Aladdin's Genie, and acts like The Aracuan Bird.
Usually these segments last for about 3-5 minutes long. There usually as long as live performances are. Usually some reality shows they would have guest stars perform their usual stuff and I think that's awesome.
Now let me get into the 3 men in charge of the show.
I don't only want these characters to be talking and doing wacky, fun stuff on the screen. I want them to be lively just like real people.
Cartoon characters tend to be fictional and not always human. I want my artmania characters to have more personality and feel less goofy and unconnected.
You can look at one of my 3 characters and they rarely have similarity to characters like Pink Panther or Oggy.
FASHION CHOICES
I wanted my characters to wear those fine suits people wore back in the 50s-60s.
WHAT'S NEXT?
I have one additional thing I'll mention with this ideal show.
Each episode will probably be about 30 minutes long. It will air at evenings and will have custom commercials like the 3 mania men promoting a cereal or something.
This show will also have special features to it like having my favorite songs as my interest in art and entertainment.
I'm a fan of big band, and swing music, mostly stuff from the 40s.
I'm all for the classics. Heck I have a few songs you can freely listen to right now on this blog.

Not only does animation feel fun and appealing but music just has a sense to feel even happier.
The 40s was simply the best time in music history. Nowadays and even in the past, music always seemed to be an interesting experience, nothing too special but had personality.
What was so special to me about music from the 40s was how revolutionary and free you could be with it, not only that but the sound quality was also at it's most attractive.
I can understand why people enjoy the newer stuff more than the old, but I don't quite think it's as in your face as the 40s.
I grew up with such shows as Jack's Big Music Show, The Backyardigans and Yo Gabba Gabba and they all had a fair share of music relation.
I guess that's why this decade was unbeatable.
You can not go wrong with artists such as Nat King Cole, Glenn Miller, Cab Calloway, Tommy Duncan, Bing Crosby and many others.
I'm actually proven to have great music taste, definitely quite rare in some cases.
Last time I talked about a song I will definitely make official with my christmas special and that's my own version of 12 Days Of Christmas.
It'll be a funny one.
But what are some other songs that I have planned?
This is going to be remarkable. I have to hire an actual band to play a wintery like song for everyone.
Vinn Kringle is a spoof of Glenn Miller. He's the main leader of the band and plays the trombone just like Miller.
His team consist of many unique traits.
You can have people to be normal.
Or someone internally insane.
I called the song "The Merryside Melody". I was originally going to name it The Merry Melody but that seems obvious right?
We're back with the tree. I'm actually going to name him Truffles. Yes silly, but works and is quite rare too.
Truffles appears in a few music sequences throughout the special.
I already made it clear that he will be in a top hat while the Vinn Kringle Merryside Melody plays.
But he'll also perform his main song, "I Know I'll Get There"
It teaches how strong and alive you really are if you want to find a good place to be.
I was thinking about what Truffles's singing style will act like. Definitely mixed with my favorite classic actors, Gene Kelly.
This man was awesome.
The next song will be more shorter than usual. I would like to hire a soothing vocalist with this one. I call it Walkin' In Snow. It's sort of more relaxing and is a slow ballad type but not too emotional or sad.
THE MILKY FACTORY
This factory was a close companion next with The North Pole. It was founded in the early 1950s. The factory consists on 7 factory workers in a middle sized area where they engineer trees and make delicious hot chocolate in medium sized cups.
This is what there outfit looks like.
Note : Rarely do humans actually were serviced in this place. There was a total of 6 humans in the last 70 or so years.
The current 7 workers in the Milky Factory are a deer, dog, cat, bear, duck, bird and apparently a sock.
I got that idea from a Bing Crosby album cover. It has a sock in the tree and I thought it was funny so I went on making a character of it.
The reason why The Milky Factory was such a good idea was that it was a inspiration on the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White. I thought they were fantastic in that film. And the simple, unoriginal names I gave my characters were referenced by the names of the Dwarfs.
And what is the song going to be about?
Making hot chocolates!
Lastly is the finale song. I don't have an official name with it yet but it centers around Truffles finally finding his good place, he will be staying with a bunch of energetic amusing trees like this.
The finale song has to be incredible somehow. It's the final song of the special, so we can't make it too disappointing.
I certainly had inspiration for an energetic feel of this one like with the 30s Fleischer Cartoons like Bimbo's Initation (1931).
And of course the other songs will be the first 2 songs, White Christmas and Silent Night, both at the same time.
