Split Screen Technique in It's Always Fair Weather

This is what I like about old hollywood musicals, the sequences can be creative and really fascinating instead of a person just randomly singing out of nowhere.

They are sure fun, we got Gene Kelly dancing with Jerry in Anchor's Aweigh, Fred Astaire dancing on the ceiling in Royal Wedding, Kelly dancing with his alter ego in Cover Girl, and Ann Miller's Too Darn Hot dance.

I love alot of old entertainers, they feel more easy-going, and casual in their movies.

About two weeks ago, I finally got the chance to watch It's Always Fair Weather because it was on Max, and it was genuinely breathtaking and exciting. I loved it, it was a masterpiece.

The Baby You Knock Me Out song I could not stop listening to, it's easily the most inspiring songs of them all, but one of my favorites throughout the film was the split screen "Once Upon a Time" dance. My goodness, this was absoutely phenomenal. You really have to see this.

To me, this scene warmed my heart the most. You can tell how beautiful and extraordinary this is. You can see three of the men all by themselves singing out the song, it's timed impeccably, and comes to show you how you don't always need a deep complex, and dramatic moment in order to be magnificent.

As somebody who is continuing their journey on experiencing and expanding the creativity of these movies, this film alongside the songs I would highly recommend for viewers. I think at least one movie like Singin' In The Rain, and other grandiose movies Kelly, Astaire or Charisse star in should consider a must watch.

The Coach - How To Play Football (1944)

There's this great sequence from a Disney cartoon called How To Play Football (1944) starring a bunch of Goofy clones. I think it's a decently funny short, but this particular scene with the coach was animated beautifully by John Sibley.

He's one of my favorite animators of all time. He animated most of the Kinney Goofy shorts and has an expressive yet cool and almost powerful sense of artistic ability. The coach here shows off a very tough and likeable pose.

He does a unique walk, and does a solidly great trick of letting go of the cigar and a second later he grasps it with his teeth.

The next following frames are a bunch of lively and fun drawings of The Coach's arms flailing around, and anticipation.

So fluid and interesting.

I'm telling you this happens in all of a matter of seconds, these type of scenes are fast paced and erratic, but honestly in an appropriate way.

Here's use of the dry-brush technique.

This is a fantastic and well-drawn pose.

So as this one.

It's gets even better every time.

This one is especially badass. Yep, I'm saying it. The camera zooms in rapidly here.

I swear when it comes to people complaining how Disney isn't trying to go for a wacky and quirky style of humor, they haven't seen these cartoons. They remind me alot like Avery.

I remember chuckling at the coach's voice when he says "NOW GET OUT THERE and FIGHT!" It's really funny and rubbery.

Feel free to watch on Toontales.

1st Anniversary of SNG Exploration Blog

🎉

The 1st Anniversary of SNG Exploration Blog!

On this day 2024, I created the blog that would evidently change my life. I started off talking about classic cartoons, and knowledge areas like title cards, designs and cel art, then I moved forward through more topics.

It was free for me to talk about what inspires me, what I love especially from my childhood and current life, and showcase images for more brief explanation.

As far as what I mostly talk about on this blog, I've talked countless old entertainment, Looney Tunes, Disney, Tex Avery, Tom and Jerry, and Fleischers.

These animation studios are obviously influential, and with what shows are airing today have had a tint of inspiration from them. As well as talking about music from the 1920s-1950s, which some of you appreciate.

With all these interests of mine, I decided that with my creations, it can lead to big inspirations from great talents. Back in December, I had this ambitious project I imagined called Spirit of Christmas, it's a musical special filled to the brim with big band songs and classic festive hits.

It also lead me to create some of the most difficult but most refined characters I ever created. I've learned from countless animation sources like Preston Blair, The Illusion of Life and model sheets online.

As well as talking about my favorite painters, magazines artists, and especially animators who I've made a marking knowing alot about, and seeing which ones I feel drawn to the most.

The picture above is caricatures of Ward Kimball, and Fred Moore.

As well as more modern topics like A.I which in my opinion is destroying creativity and originality.

I made this meme a few months ago.

You can tell when my blog is persistent, and I'm still experiencing something new, it's always something so interesting, I cover it immediately.

I experienced artists and musicians I never explored before like James Swinnerton, Betty Hutton, and Wiktor Korecki, I wouldn't be able to talk about them at all without my appreciation for social media.

Let me just say, I only do this blog to cheer and make you guys happy. No matter how many views this blog gets, all it matters is sharing my own personal tastes and artistic skills to every single of you.

I literally thank everyone who has experienced a little or alot on this website, because in my opinion, I think it deserves a chance for people to look into different tastes and topics.

Everyone is welcomed to freely check out my posts and my art. ❤️

August Drawings

Tomorrow will be the 1st anniversary of my exploration blog, so I'll definitely be making something special then.

For now, Day 364, I'll just give you drawings.

I made a new trio, Marinette, a panda who is quite reserved and private, Thea who is emotional but understanding, and Fennica, a highly productive and hard-working fox.

Another recently added character I created is Ox Fisher's dog companion. She's a brown poodle with a pink bow.

Next is some random character sketches.

Another selection of Wolf and Cauliflower drawings.

Now lastly 2 extra digital artworks I did on my phone.

This drawing of Szac I did was inspired by Bill Peet's art especially the ones he did for Song of The South.

Friday Out On The Farm

Today was an interesting day, I went out and went to a farm, shopping and got pumpkins. I was drawing concepts of an actual mascot to the ...
