The Rymahites

 

Sometimes I change my opinion on what my favorite characters I created are, but something about Srobel Ghann just makes it the most unique, distinctive, newly original character I ever made. If you don't know Srobel is the yellow mask. 

I first sketched him back in 2021, he was sorta different and more charismatic in a way that he could be more hilarious or charming, but I liked him more mysterious. It fitted his design clearer.

Just recently, I wanted to give Srobel Ghann a family. A group known as The Rymahites. There is a current total of 6 masks. Who knows when there might be a 7th.

These are sets of diamonds locked in precious safe places to protect them from danger. So far, Srobel Ghann and Dohl Whinn have their own diamonds. They're used for their special spells.

This entire idea was inspired by my love for crystals back when I was in the 5th grade. By then, I started to begin learning about spiritual activities like journaling, daily cards, affirmations and chakras. It was Mom's interest and I enjoyed the experience myself. I still have these sets of uniquely shaped colored crystals I still hold my heart to nowadays. 

Making something so creatively inventive and out of the ordinary makes the franchise more iconic. Looney Tunes mostly had a human and animal cast yet they have Marvin The Martian, Aqua Teen had anthropomorphic food, Toy Story has toys that come alive etc. 

Now let's get onto the 5 other masks, the names and straightforward info.

New Drawings

 

After Thanksgiving was over, I think it was a good time to get into the holiday spirit, listening to old Christmas music, making the tree, and of course drew this.

Here's a random but fun drawing I made of a wild jungle boy laughing.

I sometimes use drafts for the poses. Also, I had to draw my own fist in order to make this sketch work. 

I'm sure in previous drawing posts you've seen this character before. This is Eduardo Gmidgets.

Above is some Wise Ol' Owl drawings, a character I enjoy drawing nowadays, and below is another character I enjoy drawing is Cauliflower.

I've been watching the first few episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force lately. It's fine but I always liked the distinctive designs of the three main characters. I would've imagined what would happen if this trio was aimed at a suitable audience. There would be more of that likeable action and mystery involved. 

I liked this Bugs Bunny drawing I made.

I was designing dogs lately and one of the dogs would've worked perfectly as a parody of 12 Angry Men called 12 Angry Dogs. I really liked the original 1957 movie, so this was fun and inventive to create.

I actually had to look into more of the characters, because it's funny that they don't have real names mentioned in the film.

Here's more of my Donald Duck drawings in a vintage commercial art style. It's inspired by my favorite version of the character from a 1954 cartoon Donald's Diary. Also no hard feelings to Donald Duck's original actors but I seemingly like him in a more sophisticated voice.

Owls

 

Owls are one of the most interesting types of birds. I love them myself, they're classified as being morally analytical, and solitary. I recently created a new edition to the Art-Mania Villain crew. This is The Wise Ol' Owl, he believes in the willpower of wisdom, but he can be very deceitful, and tries treacherous methods to change people's minds from becoming completely normal to geniuses of his teachings.

This is what he looks like, notice that smug, yet wicked facial expression in the middle of the sketches. This is a true glance of his devious personality.

This idea started off as I was watching the extras selection of the 2005 Bambi DVD, it's becoming one of my all-time favorite movies, and Friend Owl in particular is a very expressive character, so it's a very useful example of studying specific owls.

They actually showed live-action owls, but these are images I searched on the internet, mostly for key reference. The narrow eyes show off suspicion.

This owl is flying mid-air, owls themselves don't usually walk on ground, so it's useful that they use their feathers.

Now Wise Ol' Owl may be a little more anthropomorphic, but he still decides to act traditionally anyway.

An owl is shocked, or maybe even surprised. Their eyes are more wide open, in a cautious sort of way.

Mr. Owl isn't particularly that shocked. The film theory is that the heroes are particularly more confident at handling challenging situations than villains often do. 

There's not a bunch of owls in animation. They're fun to draw, in fact my high school mascot is an owl. Last year, I designed and promoted virtue art until I graduated.

Szac & Scotty

 

I made some concept art lately of Szac and a kid he's trying to assist. I'm truly a fan of simple stories, but there needs to be a sense of emotional intelligence and realism to them in order for me to be really invested in them.

This is taken place in the 50s, where Szac plays the titular role of being a secure agent, I came up with a short story where he has to help a kid find his pet salamander in a mysterious gloomy pond.

I named the kid Scotty. He's lonely but very calm. His fashion is a mix of black and grey,  very easy colors and fits his personality perfectly.

Autumn Drawings

 

Hey! You guys missed me? 

Anyways if you didn't notice, I took a long 4 day hiatus. I wanted to take a break, I was too busy drawing so I have a handful of art that I did in a course of a week. Enjoy!

When I'm using social media apps like Instagram, I don't focus too much on recent news, and issues unless if their highly important. I actually follow some cool pages that resemble the classic hollywood feel and other inspirational stuff like animation and musical sequences from movies.

I wanted to get silly and decided to draw Donald as Jed Potter (Fred Astaire) from Blue Skies (1946), the movie looks handsome, I definitely will add the movie onto my watch list. 

In the Artmania universe, there's gotta be a music group. This is one of the members. I actually remember drawing this cool chicken below a couple years ago.

A recent character to add to the mix. This is the first Asian character I ever made and to me that's an accomplishment, since I love to create characters from different race and cultures, I named her Amimi Yokana. She's a talented dancer.

I love drawing characters that resemble actors, these men above for instance. That reminds me, have you heard about the news lately about the A.I actress that's humiliating real talents in Hollywood? The Tily Norwood stuff? It's irritating as heck.

Bonjour Paris Scene In Funny Face (1957) + Art-Mania Tour

 

Funny Face (1957) is one of my favorite movies. After re-watching a few moments, my favorite is easily the musical sequence titled Bonjour Paris. It's a beautiful song that has a ton of gorgeous and massive camera angles. 

I missed when movies had more of an unlimited approach at showing nature, and different areas to explore. Nowadays what I'm seeing is movies that barely show us atmosphere and natural schemes, plus overwhelming bored characters and cashgrab sequels and remakes, not saying that all movies have that but it's been more common.

I know that the 30s-50s movies were not perfect either, alot of the trends would be predictable love stories or other over-used genres, but when some movies are good and creative, they go a long way to become masterpieces like Singin' In The Rain, and the overlooked Hellzapoppin'.

But what I think is missing from that excellence of creativity is expression not limitation. I never believed that creating something will lead to restrictions until I was fully grown to critques and reviewers on YouTube.

I imagined Art-Mania to be an entire universe. I listed land areas and locations, giving you more information about what it truly holds.
