The Best Backgrounds In A Tom And Jerry Cartoon

Tom and Jerry is a cartoon that I always find funny, and clever. Just like with Looney Tunes, and Disney, MGM knows how to make their audience happy.

Tom and Jerry is kinda hard for me to find extremely amusing because sometimes the gags don't make sense and I'm not a true fan of silent films. But in my opinion this series is really good with that type of genre.

It's kinda hard for me to choose a perfect Tom and Jerry cartoon, but I can choose the best backgrounds.

In my opinion, the best backgrounds in a Tom and Jerry cartoon is...

First of all, I always loved the silhouette title cards. They make the cartoon more relaxing which is what I love in classic cartoons.

The cartoons starts we already get a masterpiece of scenery.

Ahhhhhhh. The colors, so beautiful, so peaceful.

This is such a perfect start to a cartoon. We get some amazing colorful backgrounds. It reminds me of the 30s Disney cartoons. I can see why they were so popular.

Every animation studio back in the 30s and 40s looked the best. Imagine getting beautiful backgrounds like this nowadays, especially in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Man I miss that type of format. It doesn't deserve the hate.

Tom and the other characters designs were the best during this time period. Tom's personality is sorta cynical and both happy-go-lucky at the same time. I love it.

When I was watching this, this didn't feel like an 8 minute cartoon it felt like 5 minutes. Maybe because I was distracted by the backgrounds I couldn't even remember all the character's actions.

I think what was so easily distracted was the 1940s animation. Tom and Jerry isn't good without the chaotic expressions and screaming.

I think the late 40s was at its best with warmth and comedy. This to me is like an easter pastel aesthetic and the animation just works.

I love this fish's design. Usually when William Hanna and Joesph Barbera make new characters, they always come as rather cute.

Whenever these types of characters appear on screen, the cartoon is more enjoyable and fun. I wouldn't love a cartoon starring Nibbles or the other tiny characters that much.

My favorite scene in this cartoon is when the fish slaps Tom so much there are countless smears to grab the animators attention.

I also love when Tom gets frightened at Spike. These 2 frames are stellar.

Now that I finished watching the entire cartoon, is it good? Yes. It's really good and has some funny moments. Something like Night Before Christmas or Mice Follies which I talked about already were just watchable if not outstanding, this is definitely enjoyable and has some funny moments.
