I officially watched every Disney movie from the Silver Age. This was really challenging to get through mostly because some of the films have changed their style, and the fact that this era had more movies then the previous ones.
Now, will this era be as fantastic as others might say? Find out.
Like I said previously, I'll rank these from Worst To Best.
Let's get started.
8
Lady And The Tramp (1955)
This is quite interesting for it's time. It's well known for being the first Disney animated movie in wide-screen. Usually I'm not a fan of that aspect-ratio, but does this film have potential, do I like it?
Y'know there are some Disney fans out there that have a movie that is severely overrated to them.
That's what this movie was to me. I have no idea what on earth this movie is trying to tell me. The plot in this film is just all over the place, not only that but we get our first set of annoying songs in this film. Seriously I didn't have any opinion with these songs, they all sound forgettable or plain irritating.
I do have to say, I really like some of the backgrounds, so that's a plus. But otherwise, this was just boring and unmemorable. It really did not feel like a Disney film at all.

The Sword In The Stone (1963)
Just like I said with Lady And The Tramp, this film feels nonsensical, but at least with this one, this has a better story and more enjoyable characters, not saying I like them, but they feel more drawn to my taste. I felt like the more interesting parts to this movie we're when Merlin and Arthur were transforming into animals. I also have a soft spot for the colors in some of the sequences especially with Madame Mim, she has a really good character design.
Anyways, this isn't too bad, just kinda there.

Sleeping Beauty (1959)
This film took about 8 years to make, most of the time was on the animation. It was that difficult. But is it really that fascinating? Not really. I wasn't really a fan of Aurora, she was the more blander of the princess bunch. I also thought Maleficent was just there too. The good parts to this film is the final bit with Prince Phillip fighting the dragon, and I'll admit it, the three fairies were hilarious.
However, I didn't think it was as entertaining as other people would say.
I wished this film had more potential, but it didn't seem to work on me.
I don't accept every Disney movie to be a masterpiece, so this one just comes across as meh but has some good moments here and there.

Jungle Book (1967)
Now this is where things start to get good. I like this film alot. It was probably the more chill, laid-back ones we had in quite some time. Not only do we get groovy and fun songs, but Baloo is just an incredible character and the background choices are really warm and pleasant, probably the best from the era.
Now I don't think this film is perfect at all. I have some problems with it. First of all, the Colonel Hahti scenes just DRAG, and Shere Khan was just a boring villain. The fight wasn't even that special either. Besides that, this film was just really good. I didn't think it would be confusing for me, but it actually had focus, and interesting characters.

Alice In Wonderland (1951)
I remember thinking to myself, I want to experience this movie back then because of how weird and surreal it was. As a matter of fact, I'm glad I was able to finally watch it because this movie is really solid, I love every single one of the characters designs, March Hare and Mad Hatter in particular. As far as the story goes, it's alright, I was just astounded by the characters and backgrounds the most.

In terms of backgrounds, these are the best I seen so far. Seriously, I love the nighttime aesthetic in this movie. I also like how high-spirited the characters are. Wendy in particular is such a reliable character. She's one of my favorite female Disney characters. I also think the story is sweet as well.
Now I definitely know this movie has had controversy, them having indians and all that. I honestly didn't really have any problem with it whatsoever. All I ever cared about was how fun this movie was. It's cute, I would recommend you watching it.

2
Cinderella (1950)
A really remarkable and enjoyable experience. Just like with Snow White, Cinderella doesn't deserve the hate. She has the best singing voice so far in these movies. The story is absolutely amazing, and the characters are all flawless. It's just a simple yet watchable film that everyone could enjoy, well almost.
There are little problems I have with it. I think the scenes involving the rats and Lucifer takes too long and doesn't build up to this otherwise timeless classic.
9.5/10
And finally, the best silver age disney movie is...
1
One Hundred And One Dalmatians (1961)
Wow, this movie was a blast.
I instantly enjoyed the film when the introduction hit. Seriously, love the style to it.
The colors, the backgrounds, the characters, even the villain are all impeccable.
I think I'm the only person ever to be obsessed with this style of animation, the story is also outstanding, Cruella is my favorite Disney villains so far, and the cuter moments are absolutely funny.
Seriously, it's one of the coolest movies I saw in my life. One scene has the dalmatians watch a Silly Symphony cartoon on TV, it's too good!
It's becoming one of my favorite Disney movies of all time if you ask me. I would like to watch this movie again if I really want to.
10/10
So, what are my final thoughts to the Silver Age?
I would say it's kinda mid. Some highs, some lows, but I do like how we get more unique stories here and there than the package films we got in the war-time era. Disney, you have extraordinary amount of talent, and hopefully these films don't get too forgotten anytime soon.
Next, I'm going to be taking a look at the Bronze Age, this has the same amount of movies as the Silver Age, but will it hold up? I have no idea. But I can't wait.
Next week I'll start watching The Aristocats and move forward from there.
That's all I have to say at this point.
Have a good day 👍
